IS THERE ENOUGH?

Is there ever enough money to pay for all the things that we want to have? Can we ever eat enough of the foods we really want without gaining weight? Is there ever enough space in our home for all of our "stuff"? We are consumers. We consume to fill a void. We consume because it's a learned behavior. We consume because it's "good for the economy" (that's like telling an obese person to eat as much as they want because they need the nutrition). Consumption doesn't fill the void unfortunately.
People are often drawn to abundance/prosperity principles to get out of a hole that they dug for themselves. The truth is that what we have now is really enough. So why do we always want more? How do we ever reach a point where we feel that we have more than enough? Growth requires expansion, but when we fill ourselves with things like food, alcohol, presents to ourselves that we can't afford, and so on, we are left with an emptiness that can't be filled by anything. We need to think carefully about what defines growth. It's different for each person. We all need to grow in different ways and we need to have the experiences that will allow us to grow.
Having more money, time and health permits us to to give more to others. Finding the balance is a slippery slope. There's a responsibility that comes with increased wealth. We've all heard that, "you can't give from an empty cup". For many, giving has little to do with the amount they have. Those who "have" don't always give within proporition to what they have and those who don't have sometimes give more than they can afford to give. A person with a generous heart appears to give endlessly, but sometimes they pay a huge price for all that giving. When the balance is disrupted a person becomes sick or exhausted or broke...
