ARE YOU HAPPY?

Happiness rarely has to do with what is going on externally in your life. I'm sure there are those who would disagree with that statement. Happiness is a feeling from within. Have you ever had many "good" things happen but still feel down? Have you ever gone through a crisis or a loss but still felt a sense of peace and happiness? When was the last time you felt joyful and what was happening in your life when you felt that way? Why do we start with our external lives in our quest for happiness? It really doesn't make sense, it doesn't add up. If you look over all the changes that you've made in life in order to be happy, you will probably see that your strategy didn't work. Who is happy today? Why do we think mastering this thing called happiness is the destination? Spiritual growth doesn't necessarily have anything to do with happiness, neither does increased wealth. This might sound strange from someone who helps people increase abundance in their lives but abundance needs to be carefully defined by you and you are the only one who can define it. Are the goals you're setting for yourself going to make you happy when you reach them and did the goals you set in the past make you happy when you reached them? Do you know someone who is happy no matter what is going on in their life? I know someone like that and he is just happy to wake up in the morning. He is usually broke and has one crisis after another but he's one of the happier people I've met. Have you ever spoken with a person who tells you that their happy but their body language says otherwise? Why do we like "happy" better than all the other emotions? Think about what really makes you happy and don't let the media or our culture define that for you.
