STRETCH YOURSELF

To move past your comfort zone we need to know what our comfort zone is. How do you know when you are at the edge of it? The answer is going to be different for everyone. How do you know when you are moving into unknown territory? Do you feel it somewhere in your body? Imagine a scenario where you are going as far with something as you usually go. Then imagine that a line is drawn at the edge of that experience. When you step over the line, what are you feeling in your body? Fear usually creeps up and you might feel sensations in your arms and legs that say "STOP"!

What is the point of going beyond that line anyway? Moving farther into the dark territory of the unknown causes us to grow. The more we show ourselves that we can succeed beyond that limitation the better we feel about ourselves. The things we thought we couldn't do, we actually can. The self talk tells us to stop at the line because it's safe and it's known. The truth is that beyond that line is a much better way of living. It means giving up unhealthy relationships and situations, but it is the rare person that is willing to explore what's out there. Start small by imagining that you are at the line and peeking through a hole. You're able to see the next step in front of you. What is it?
