BEING TRUE TO YOURSELF

  • Do you know when you're being true to yourself and when your not? How can you be
true to yourself if you don't know yourself well enough to know what your own
truth is? How do you know when you aren't? There are early warning signs and then there
are the late warning signs when you ignore the early ones. The early ones can feel like
something's missing. They can feel like a punch in the stomach or a gut feeling that something
isn't right. They can show up in the form of complaining when you don't do anything about
what you're complaining about and you notice that people are getting tired of listening. There's nothing wrong with having thoughts such as "I'm not being true to myself here", but taking
action can be very scarey. If you take action you'll need to make some changes and change
conjurs up different feelings for different people. Generally, we don't like change. Sometimes we do everything we can to avoid it. That's when the knock on the head comes. The longer you ignore the warning bells, the louder they get. Then one day the bells are ringing so loud that no one around you can bare to listen anymore. They hear them and you've shut the noise out. Then something happens, an event you're not happy about and you are forced to change. It gets to the point where you don't even have a choice anymore.

Listen to the warning bells early.
Start planning to take steps down the road.
Give yourself plenty of time to make changes.
    Don't act impulsively.
Ask friends for guidance if you need to but check in with your inner guidance every step of the way.
You are the only who has the answers for yourself.

Enjoy today first, plan tomorrow second.
