There are rich children who grow up in families that give them very little love and there are poor children who grow up surrounded by loving and nurturing adults. Without the unconditional love of a parent a child cannot reach their potential without working through the pain and wounds of their childhood. A child needs to be loved and accepted regardless of their grades in school or their performance. If they are non-performers they still need to be loved. Most of us grew up in an age when this wasn't the thinking and we have to undo the damage of the past. Our parents didn't know what we know now. Some are better at parenting than others. We all come from vastly different backgrounds even if we are neighbors exposed to many of the same conditions. What goes on in a family or a surrogate family contributes to the health and development of that child.
Imagine a world of children who are loved for who they are and are considered to be fine as they are from a very young age. Imagine children who are allowed to express their talents and not live out the dreams their parent's couldn't live. Imagine a world of happy, healthy children who then grow up to be high functioning adults who have so much time, energy and capacity to give and contribute because as children they received all that they needed.
