GIVING UP

There is a big difference between wanting to give up and actually giving up. One thing I can say about myself is that I often want to give up but those who know me know that I am unstoppable. If you haven't seen someone for awhile and then you run into them and you can see that they have given up on themselves we often have the urge to encourage them to get back to the person we knew they could be. Or perhaps you are the person that has given up and doesn't care anymore about your goals and when people run into you, you just want to hide because of the pity in their eyes. I guess I've been on both sides of the fence in my life, who hasn't? The desire to keep trying to perfect what you never seem to get right inspires others. If you are someone who has been beaten down by life's challenges but you still never give up then your reward is not accomplishing the goal but the ability that you have to keep going and to never give up. This is what people are attracted to the most. No one can help the person who doesn't care. Only the person who has given up on themselves can lift themselves out of it. How do you do that if you are that person? I think faith is the key. There has to be a belief that there are reasons for why things happen and that there is a purpose to all of this. To believe that you have to have faith. It doesn't really matter what your concept of God is or if you even believe in one. Faith goes beyond that. Faith is the only thing that can keep us going when we feel that there is no hope anymore.
