When creating a system of organization you have to be willing to be flexible. Flexibility allows you to deal with interruptions to your schedule and discipline forces you to get back on track as soon as possible. Sometimes we create the best system or plan. We are going along at an amazing clip and then Boom! What happens? Something. An injury, a phone call that's upsetting, an emergency that requires not only our attention but our support for days or weeks. That is usually when we "fall off the wagon". Be prepared for the unexpected, before you even start to devise a plan and a system for attaining your goals. It's impossible to know when or where the unexpected will occur, that's what makes life so interesting and challenging. A plan gives us a course to get back to once the crisis is over. It gives us a solid line to follow when we're in a crisis. Flexibility allows us to make necessary adjustments. If you've ever known someone who is rigid and inflexible you will know that they often are unreasonable when the unexpected comes along. They're the ones that can't let go of the goal and the time frame for any reason whatsoever. It's difficult to live with someone like that and it's especially difficult to be someone like that. Before you sit down to map out your life, vow to be kind to yourself as you proceed along your journey and to have the flexibility to make adjustiments as you go. This is the only way you will ever succeed.
