Staying focused is always a challenge. People will say things, distractions will grab your attention, the TV will call your name, so will every unproductive past time you can think of, like talking on the telephone and reading and writing endless emails. You might want to try to set up a reward system for yourself. After you complete the really important tasks, you reward yourself with a phone call, or a TV show or reading and writing some email. Make categories either in your mind or on paper, telling you which are the time wasters and which are the priorities. When you wake up in the morning, know already what are your top two to three priorities for that day.
