The truth is that everyday we have a clean slate, but over the years we develop cycles that are somewhat based on the calender. One of the cycles is the beginning of the new year. Before we allow in what is to come we have to take time to reflect on what already is. Holding on to the things that we aren't making any use of clutters our world and prevents us from allowing the better things to come in. Take the time to do a mental inventory of what is good in your life and what has got to go. Just setting the intention to make a change can be very powerful. Have you ever had a thought in the back of your head that you put out of your mind and then later it manifested? Thinking something has to change is part of the decision making process. First we entertain the thought and then we imagine the other possibilities. Sometimes we get scared and retreat, but sometimes we decide to either keep things as they are or take some steps toward making changes. If we decide to keep things as they are, then the choice is ours and we can remind ourselves periodically why we made that choice, but it's our choice. We can always decide in the future to make a new choice and change our decision. Timing is everything in life.
Taking action too soon can be disastrous. Waiting too long can also create many problems. When those thoughts creep into our awareness it's best to think about what it would take to make that thing happen and then decide how and when. Not taking action toward something we truly want can leave us with regrets for years to come and can keep us in situations that we're unhappy in.
Happy New Year
