TURNING POINTS

Turning points are those periods in our life when things change from what they were to what they are going to be. It's the transition between what was and what is to become. We shed our old skin during turning points and develop a new self. Turning points are sometimes disguised in illness or crisis. Life as we knew it begins to break down to make way for a new life. The process leaves us in an abyss, feeling like we've been disconnected from the life support machine or floating in space. It's unpleasant and feels like there is no ground beneath our feet. Life can't improve if we don't go through this tunnel of change. Sometimes we revisit old issues at a new level and it feels like we've regressed, but we really haven't. We will never be the person we were when we went through it last time. Now we've grown and we're going through the same thing with a different skill set. Whatever turning points you might be going through right now, remember how you've survived them in the past. What seems impossible today does have a solution. Encourage yourself by remembering that you've gotten through many tough situations and you will survive this one, too.

There is a great book on turning points, and it's called, appropriately, Turning Points by Mary Carole Moore, published in 1995 by Eckankar. The only place I can find it on the internet is used at Barnes and Nobles. It's worth tracking down, if you can find it.
